In Your Customer’s Best Interest

There is an ideology I want to cover by Jay Abraham called, “The Strategy of Pre-eminence.”

In this video below … Jay explains how you have a moral obligation in business,
to give your potential customer true advice, even before money or contract is exchanged.

Everything you do in your business should be — first and foremost — IN YOUR CUSTOMER’S BEST INTEREST.

When you do this…

…you establish yourself as your customer’s most trusted adviser,

(and) put simply, people want to do business with other people that they trust.
Do something nice for your current customers.

Search Engine Optimization

I recently started developing a Local Search Engine Optimization project. You can reference the project here:

Before I get into detail about what the project is about, I want cover the term silo architecture, and how it relates so importantly to the all mysterious SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

Silo Architecture Is SEO

The term silo architecture relates to how you structure and group the information within your website. The true foundation for onsite search engine optimization.

The concept is best explained by Bruce Clay incorporated. You can read Bruce Clay’s original article here SEO Siloing: How to build a website silo architecture.

The most important thing you can do for SEO purposes is group related information into distinct sections.

Groups can be made up by inbound linking within your website – Think of the way Wikipedia is structured...  Linking between related pages will create Silos within your website.

Do Not cross link between silos or unrelated content – doing so will only dilute the silo and confuse the search engines when they index the pages on your site . Include “no-follow” link if it is unavoidable.

“Much like the chapters in a book, a silo represents a group of themed or subject-specific content on your site. The reason this grouping is such a high SEO priority is that search engines award ‘keyword’ relevancy with their index based on the page and then the rest of the site with the most supporting relevant content. Well ranked websites are founded upon the concept that a website should physically be organized like a doctoral dissertation. A dissertation has a clearly identified title, abstract, table of contents, then content laid out to reinforce the overall theme of the dissertation as a whole, all with references and footnotes supporting the subject” (Bruce Clay Inc).

Local Search Engine Optimization

Remember the Local Marketing Project I told you about in the beginning of this SEO escapade. I hope you do and if you are still reading you are a trooper so you get rewarded with a live example.

I am about to break down my silo architecture for project so you can see some of this SEO in action and copy the method for structuring your own website’s content.

As mentioned before, I started developing this website in the attempt to capture local locksmith emergencies in Montville NJ. Below is my breakdown of the keywords I researched and want to use in my website’s content structure.

3 tiers support seed keyword "Locksmith Montville NJ"
3 tiers support top level keyword “Locksmith Montville NJ”

The first thing I had to do was complete keyword research.

Once I knew which keywords were most relevant to the goal of my website, I grouped the keywords together to create silos (on average about 5 keywords will create one silo).

Each keyword represents a different article on my website which is internally linked to the tier above … again never cross linking between unrelated silos important!

My main keyword or “seed” keyword as you can see from the top of the structure tier is Locksmith Montville NJ.

In order to rank for that keyword, I need to have a few things in place to finalize my SEO.

As you may have already noticed, I  purchased the exact match domain name This immediately sets me up with a ranking advantage, but it is important to always remember not to overuse and abuse the keyword you want to rank for. Doing so could result in lower search engine ranking or worse, removal from the search engines completely due to lack of content quality.

Grouping related content will do the heavy lifting for us and you will soon rank for even more related terms naturally drawn to your website theme.

For, I have  set up silos using emergency locksmith keywords and grouped them together by linking to the supporting group above.

This will support my topic relevancy and set the foundation for my local Locksmith Project.

How To Attract New Customers

How to attract new customers.
How to attract new customers.

Hey Lou here…

I want to share with you two of the most influential concepts, that I have learned to date, about getting new customers.

  • The Strategy of Preeminence
  • The Cheese and Whisker Method

The Strategy Of Preeminence

The strategy of Preeminence is an ideology developed by Jay Abraham. This strategy is applied before any physical marketing actually occurs (mindset).

Everything you do in your business should be — first and foremost — IN YOUR CUSTOMER’S BEST INTEREST.

With that mindset in place, it’s time to move on to the Cheese and Whisker Method.

Originally developed by two marketers Dean Jackson and Joe Polish. Their ability to gain new customers has been time and tested over a number of different markets.

This concept has only really been explained in their 25K mastermind group.

The Cheese and Whisker Method

The Cheese and Whisker Method is shared originally as a podcast posted on June 26, 2011. To find the original podcast episode you can visit

I’m going to break down the Cheese and Whisker Method for us today because the original podcast is an hour long. I do encourage you take the time to sit down and listen to it. Dean and Joe lay down some serious gems in that podcast –  Pretty sure I learn something new every time listen to it.

The Cheese And Whisker Method

How to get new Clients

I have a few videos of the Cheese and Whisker Method below. These videos are by Perry Belcher.  I think these videos and his explanation get to the point the fastest. Start with the first video below then work your way down as Perry says, “if you can get this it will change your entire freakin’ business.”

Example of approaching with Whiskers (bad)

Example of approaching with Cheese (good)

As stated before a mouse will chew through a 3 foot wall to get to a piece of cheese but run as fast as they can in the opposite direction at the sound of whisker.

If you can portray what your customer wants most and give them the option to take action, then you will never look at getting new customers the same again.

If you found this post helpful please share it. Thanks!

Five Ways To Earn More Now Using Email

(By) Charlie Page

It’s all too easy to get caught up in the hustle and
bustle of everyday life and forget to do those basic
things that create real results in our lives.

While posting video and Twittering are all fine and
good, we MUST use the basic and proven methods of
marketing if we want to survive and thrive.

And email marketing is one of those basics, one you
might be overlooking right now.

It is undeniable that the MOST powerful form of
marketing online today is email marketing.

If you look at any major product launch you will see
they are done with email marketing.

Video might be replacing long written sales letters (it
is) but nothing will replace email. In fact, every
sales letter you see that is done with video contains
that ever-present “sign up for the next video” box for
you to fill in.

And then it’s the email follow up that sells us on
taking action.

I know you know this because you, like me, get all
those “act now” messages!

So now the questions is this – how can YOU use ethical,
permission based email marketing to promote the
products or programs that will help YOU earn a full
time living online?

Use this short checklist to ensure that you are taking
full advantage of the power of email and, by so doing,
making time your ally, not your adversary.

Fast, easy, and free, the consistent use of email in
the follow five areas will yield powerful results for

Whether it’s as simple as a one-time ‘thank you’ or as
elaborate as a 50 message follow up system, customers
love to know you care.

At a minimum, send one message thanking customers for
every order.

To power up this idea, create a follow up system using
your favorite autoresponder ( and offer your customer more chances
to buy.

Keep messages short and they will always be welcome.

Do you offer a product that takes a bit of learning to
use? Most products do take a bit of instruction to

Teach your customers how to get the benefits they
deserve from your product or service via email.

Keep messages on topic and separate your follow up
series into bite-size learning pieces. These follow up
messages can bring your refund rate to near zero … a
good thing indeed.

How often do *you* buy the first thing you see?

Comparison shopping is the way of the Internet, and
getting prospective customers to return to your site is
the challenge.

A pre-sale series is the answer!

This is actually very easy to do. Just write down the
top ten reasons why someone should buy from you, then
put each in a follow up message. Send one a day until
they are all delivered.

Offer the series to everyone who visits your site and
let time do the selling work for you!

Our experience has been that up to 60% of visitors will
take your free information if you do a good job of
selling the idea.

Use email to deliver insider information on special
bargains, limited time pricing, and more.

Much like a coupon sheet in your local newspaper,
selling advertising in this type of email is a breeze.

The idea here is simple – YOU do the research and prove
the value of products and then report on that to people
on the list.

When they buy they buy from YOUR affiliate link and
everyone wins!
